About-us.jpg

With decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, Mindsmiths’ Clinical Psychologists and Founders Dr Leah Collins and Anne Symons know what real change looks like. Thousands of hours spent analysing what makes people tick—all while dispensing practical and evidence-based interventions designed to improve people’s mental health —has deeply informed their approach to building mentally healthy workplaces. It’s all about giving organisations the mental health tools, training, and techniques to protect, promote and respond to their workplace’s mental health needs.

Expert minds at work.

Dr Leah Collins

Dr. Leah Collins is a highly experienced Clinical and Health Psychologist with over 15 years in public health hospitals, not-for-profit organisations, policy development, government services and private clinical practice. Her extensive public health and clinical experience guided her interests toward broader mental health strategy, C-Suite executive coaching and workshop facilitation in private organisations in order to extend her specialist mental health skills to industries that historically lack accessible and targeted mental health strategy and support for their employees.

“Organisations and business that invest in the wellbeing and mental health of their employees reap the benefits. When mental health is valued and promoted in a workplace, authentic connections between employees flourish. When employees are connected to each other they are more connected to their workplace and are more likely to thrive and excel in their roles. Authentic wellbeing enhances wellbeing in others, it’s a butterfly effect”.

" Positive workplace cultures don't happen by accident. Creating a mentally healthy workplace starts with open conversations, genuine support, and a culture that values well-being as much as productivity."

Why Mindsmiths?

We spend a third of our waking hours and more than half the years of our life at work. For many of us, it’s the key to our sense of identity and purpose, not to mention a source of social connection and how we put food on the table.

Yet, Australians report the second highest levels of workplace stress in the world, increasingly experiencing burnout, disengagement, and ‘quiet quitting’ in record numbers. The effects on individual health and organisational wellbeing are dramatic and costly.

But that’s only half the picture.

For those that work in places that value and invest in employee wellbeing, they’re 2.6 times more likely to stay in their job, 3.1 times more likely to be engaged at work, and 3.5 times more creative*.

That’s why at Mindsmiths, we partner with organisations and businesses to co-design and deliver a mental health strategy that serves your workplace’s unique needs.
